Founded 11 years ago with a vision to break free from conventional norms, TALLER is a melting pot of diverse talents, ideas and knowledge into main fashion industry areas.
Our name, which means ‘workshop’ in Spanish and “elevated” in English, reflects our commitment to hands-on learning, collaboration, and the transformation of raw creativity into unconventional solutions that will upgrade the fashion system. Our roots are deeply embedded in the rich tapestry of alternative fashion, and we take pride in nurturing generations of boundary-pushing pattern-breakers in the fashion business.
TALLER, since its inception, has been on a mission to transform and elevate the fashion and luxury industry. Now, a decade later, we proudly celebrate our vision of transforming material culture through the training of professionals and creators.
Co-founded by Montserrat González Caballero, a visionary textile and fashion designer, our journey began when she recognized the need for trained personnel in the national fashion and luxury sector. As a member of the Belt and Road Alliance, we stand as the only Mexican institution fostering global collaboration in textile, science, and technology. Certified by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, our programs offer labor certification and extensive industry experience.
Our approach to fashion and luxury transcends conventional boundaries. We don’t confine our education programmes to the narrow spectrum of clothing and its fashion system. Instead, we embrace a broader perspective, exploring the dynamic interplay of fashion and luxury within the material culture.

A pattern breakers place
TALLER emerged through the collaborative efforts of Montserrat González Caballero, a multifaceted professional with a background as a textile and fashion designer, entrepreneur, creative director, and researcher. The inception of TALLER was inspired by Montserrat’s realization, during the establishment of her own brand, that there was a notable absence of adequately trained individuals capable of undertaking diverse roles within the national fashion and luxury industry.
Montserrat González Caballero co-founded the TALLER Fashion Development Project in 2013. Her extensive portfolio includes roles as a textile and fashion designer, creative director, researcher, and entrepreneur within the fashion and luxury sector. Actively contributing to technological innovation and development, she is a distinguished member of the Belt and Road Alliance, an initiative championed by the People’s Republic of China.
Montserrat’s impactful work has received recognition through various media outlets such as Periódico Reforma, 192, Harper’s Bazaar, Code, La Tempestad, and ID Magazine. Notably, she is a co-author of the book “Fashion and Politics: Mystical Encounters in Mexico City” (2017) and is currently collaborating on “Pink Cross Pollination” with the Museum of the Fashion Institute and Technology of NY.

TALLER is an external training agent for the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of the Government of the United Mexican States, so all our programs offer labor certification with government validity. Typically a single certificate programme takes 6-7 months with a possibility to join the Masters specialization.
Typically you will have 3 on-live hours a week with your tutor and study group. Two hours of teaching and one hour of assignment review. Our live classes happen over Zoom and TALLER online classroom starting 8 a.m. by Standard Central Time. The certificate programme takes 6-7 months to complete and requires min 80% of assignment delivery in order to acquire a certificate.
Our head office is based in Mexico city, however our tutors and students are based all around the world. Making online education exciting is not a small task, therefore we make sure your classes are engaging and relevant.

The Master specialization is born out of a commitment to deliver a comprehensive education that addresses the latest challenges in the ever-evolving fashion industry. Comprising 4-6 certificates, this specialization offers profound knowledge and hands-on experience across various facets of the fashion world. Choose a Master and a list of topics that align with your specific interests.
Master specialization program is essentially a combination of 4-6 Certificate program that are included in each Master specialization. Depending on the semester and your chosen Master specialization, you will attend one or two certificate program simultaneously. The Certificate program are designed to be easily combined, without overlapping.
